GLOBAL WARMING
I
was worried about the global warming in my
country, I didn´t like to see the animals die,
the landscapes burned and all the diseases. Now,
it is important to know all about the global warming and its consequences.
Global
warming is the gradual heating of Earth's surface, oceans and atmosphere and occurs when carbon dioxide
and other air pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and
solar radiation thatbounced off the earth’s
surface.
The earth’s ocean
temperatures are getting warmer, which means that tropical storms can pick up
more energy.
Scientists learned more about how global
warming is affecting the planet, and many agree that environmental, economic,
and health consequences are likely to occur if current trends continue. We can
look forward tomelting
glaciers and severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages and
increase the risk of wildfires in the American West. Allergies, asthma, and
infectious disease outbreaks will become more common due to increased growth of
pollen-producing ragweed, higher levels of air pollution, and the spread of
conditions favorable to pathogens and mosquitoes. Disruption of habitats such
as coral reefs and Alpine meadows could drive
many plant and animal species to extinction.
Any action to reduce or eliminate the release of
heat-trapping gases to the atmosphere helps slow the rate of warming and, the severity
of change at any given hot spot.
Global warming already hasconsequences that must be
faced today as well as tomorrow. Evidence of changes to the Earth's physical,
chemical and biological processes is now evident on every continent.
